POSITION OVERVIEW
- The Product Designer, Market Data will play a critical role in shaping how users experience and interact with real-time financial data across the brand's digital platforms. This role focuses on designing intuitive, data-rich experiences that help users quickly understand market movements, track securities, and make informed decisions.
- You will partner closely with product, engineering, data, and editorial teams to translate complex financial datasets into clear, actionable interfaces across mobile and desktop. This includes ownership of core market data surfaces such as quote pages, charts, watchlists, screeners, and portfolio experiences.
- The ideal candidate combines strong product thinking with a deep understanding of information hierarchy, data visualization, and high-frequency user workflows. This role requires a systems-level mindset to ensure consistency, scalability, and performance across real-time experiences.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design intuitive, high-performance experiences for real-time market data across mobile and desktop platforms
- Own and evolve core market data surfaces including quote pages, interactive charts, watchlists, screeners, and portfolio tracking tools
- Translate complex financial datasets into clear, digestible, and visually compelling user interfaces
- Partner closely with product and engineering to define data requirements, latency considerations, and real-time interaction patterns
- Optimize information hierarchy and density to support both quick scanning and deep analysis
- Collaborate with editorial teams to integrate news, insights, and contextual content into market data experiences
- Contribute to and extend the design system with components tailored for data visualization and financial interfaces
- Ensure consistency and usability across platforms while accommodating high-frequency, repeat user behaviors
- Leverage user research, analytics, and market understanding to continuously improve usability and engagement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-4 years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or interaction design, with a focus on data-rich or complex interfaces
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience with dashboards, data visualization, or information-dense products
- Proven ability to design for high-frequency use cases where speed, clarity, and accuracy are critical
- Deep understanding of information architecture, hierarchy, and interaction design for complex systems
- Experience designing consumer-facing mobile and desktop products
- Familiarity with real-time or near real-time data environments and their UX implications
- Strong systems-thinking mindset, with experience contributing to scalable design systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, data, and editorial teams
- Self-driven with strong prioritization and execution skills in fast-paced environments
DESIRED
- Experience with advanced data visualization techniques and tools
- Background working in media, fintech, or data-driven digital products
- Experience designing for power users and professional-grade workflows
- Exposure to AI-assisted interfaces, predictive insights, or personalization in data products
