Altum are recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join an exciting cultural organisation. This organisation is a unique cultural destination, showcasing the best of Japan through exhibitions, events, retail, hospitality and educational programming.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience across financial accounting, compliance, VAT, month-end, balance sheet management and reporting. The role will work closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, supporting accurate financial records, strong controls and key reporting requirements across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes across all entities
* Preparing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, intercompany balances and fixed asset records
* Supporting the preparation of management information, statutory accounts and financial reporting
* Leading on the preparation and coordination of MoFA financial reporting and supporting schedules as well as audit preparation
* Maintaining strong supporting documentation, audit trails and reporting controls
* Preparing VAT returns and supporting indirect tax compliance across all entities
* Working with budget holders and operational teams to improve purchasing compliance and financial governance
* Maintaining the fixed asset register and supporting cashflow reporting, treasury administration and foreign exchange analysis
* Contributing to finance systems, reporting tools and process improvements
Person Specification:
- Be part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or actively studying towards a recognised accounting qualification
* Have experience in a finance, management accounting or financial accounting role
* Have experience supporting month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
* Have experience preparing VAT returns or supporting indirect tax compliance
* Bring strong technical accounting, reconciliation and analytical skills
* Be confident using Excel and finance systems
* Be able to communicate effectively with finance and non-finance colleagues
* Ideally have experience within a multi-entity organisation or using Xero
