Tax Senior Manager - Fixed Term Contract to Permanent
South UK | Largely Remote | £75,000-£80,000
We are supporting a UK-headquartered business with the appointment of a Tax Senior Manager on a fixed-term contract basis (6 months), with the option to transition to a permanent role. You'll manage tax compliance during a critical period - covering the year end close - then move into a permanent Senior Manager position.
The Opportunity
The tax function needs reliable, compliance-focused management. You will own the tax compliance calendar and ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met through year end. This is a compliance role where you'll follow the established priorities and framework as well as setting up new ones where appropriate, working with external advisors as needed. Following the fixed-term period, there is the opportunity to move into a permanent Senior Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
- Scope = all areas of tax
- Owning the tax compliance calendar and ensuring all deadlines and deliverables are met
- Managing day-to-day tax compliance and reporting across the group
- Ensuring all tax filings and submissions are accurate and timely
- Working with external advisors as required for compliance matters
- Acting as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders on tax compliance
- Providing reliable, consistent delivery without requiring close supervision
- Identifying opportunities to bring in specialist external expertise when needed
About You
- Manager/Senior Manager within tax, with a track record of delivering against compliance requirements
- Strong background in corporate tax compliance and reporting in a complex or multi-jurisdictional environment
- Able to operate autonomously and take ownership of delivery without requiring close supervision
- Pragmatic and solution-focused. Comfortable engaging with internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Not afraid to escalate issues and bring in specialist expertise when required
- Based in or able to commute to the South/Southeast of England. Flexible hybrid with minimal office attendance
Contract Details
Fixed-Term Contract (6 months)
- Full-time position with salary, pension, and benefits
- Salary: £75,000-£80,000 per annum
- Reports to: Interim Head of Tax
- Start date: ASAP
Permanent Position (from month 7 onwards)
- Full-time permanent role
- Salary: £75,000-£80,000 per annum
- Reporting to: Finance Director
- Full benefits package including pension
Following successful delivery of the initial contract period and mutual agreement, the fixed-term contract will transition to a permanent Senior Manager role.
