Altum are recruiting for a personable and highly organised Finance Administrator to join a charity on a part-time temporary basis. This is a varied finance administration role supporting the Finance & Commercial team across expenses, invoicing, banking administration, corporate accounts and general team processes.
The role would suit someone bubbly, proactive and confident chasing stakeholders for information. You do not need double-entry accounting experience or prior finance systems knowledge, but you should be comfortable using Excel, working accurately with data, and keeping on top of multiple administrative tasks.
The role is part-time with flexible hours available. Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to work from the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, although there may be some flexibility. There is also potential for the role to become permanent in the future.
Responsibilities will include:
* Monitoring shared finance inboxes and ensuring queries are passed to the right team members
* Processing expense claims and checking they are submitted in line with policy
* Supporting with supplier invoices and other payment administration
* Scanning post and maintaining accurate finance records
* Preparing and updating spreadsheets for finance processes and reporting
* Chasing approvers, budget holders and internal stakeholders for information
* Supporting banking, investment mandate and credit card administration
* Acting as a point of contact for internal teams, suppliers, volunteers and other stakeholders
* Assisting with corporate account administration, including travel bookings and monthly summaries
* Providing general administrative support to the wider finance team as required
The ideal candidate will:
* Have strong administration skills and excellent attention to detail
* Be confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
* Be comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets and financial information
* Have a proactive, friendly and professional communication style
* Be happy chasing stakeholders and keeping processes moving
* Be able to prioritise their workload and work to deadlines
* Bring a positive, bubbly personality and enjoy working as part of a close-knit team
* Ideally have some experience in a finance, office administration or data processing role, although this is not essential
