About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Synchronicity Earth, a global conservation charity working to protect some of the world's most overlooked and threatened species and ecosystems.
Working with more than 130 conservation partners worldwide, Synchronicity Earth takes a long-term, trust-based approach to funding conservation and supporting locally led solutions.
As Financial Controller, you'll lead a small, high-performing finance team and act as a trusted adviser to the Leadership Team and Trustees. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of the finance function, driving improvements that strengthen decision-making and support Synchronicity Earth's continued growth and impact.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the annual audit and statutory reporting process.
- Owning budgeting, forecasting and monthly management reporting.
- Providing strategic financial insight to senior leaders and Trustees.
- Managing treasury, cashflow forecasting and investment reporting.
- Improving finance systems, reporting and automation.
- Leading and developing a collaborative finance team while building strong relationships across the organisation.
About you
You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience leading finance within a complex organisation.
You'll bring experience of statutory reporting, audit, business partnering, financial planning and team leadership, alongside a passion for improving systems and using data to support better decision-making.
Charity experience is welcome but not essential. More important is a collaborative approach and an appreciation that finance should enable thoughtful, flexible grant-making rather than simply oversee it.
