HR Manager | 12 Month FTC | £50,000 | South-East London | Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Altum Consulting are partnering with a values-led charity in the care sector, to recruit an experienced HR Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract.
This is a broad generalist role, combining operational HR delivery with strategic project support. Working closely with the Head of HR, you will be the first point of contact for managers and staff, providing practical, legally compliant advice across a wide range of people matters.
The role will also provide essential support and contribute to the development of an HR Officer.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide HR advice and guidance to managers and staff, acting as first point of contact for complex queries
- Manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance matters
- Support organisational change, consultation and restructuring processes
- Coach managers to improve confidence and consistency in people management
- Contribute to HR projects across policy, engagement, EDI, performance, reward and recognition
- Support the review and improvement of HR policies, processes and procedures
- Use HR data and workforce information to support decision-making
You will be an experienced HR generalist with strong employee relations experience and excellent knowledge of UK employment law. You will be confident advising managers, handling sensitive matters and balancing operational priorities with project work.
Experience required includes:
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR experience
- Experience advising managers and senior stakeholders
- Strong complex ER casework experience
- Experience supporting change, consultation or restructuring
- Excellent communication, coaching and relationship-building skills
- A collaborative, pragmatic and values-led approach
Experience within charity, not-for-profit, social care or regulated environments is preferred.
Please note the role can be worked either full-time or part-time (ideally between 28 and 35 hours per week).
