Altum Consulting is partnering with a prestigious, global investment firm to appoint a Senior Accountant to join their high-performing and internationally focused finance operations team located in the vibrant city of Amsterdam.

This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced, operationally minded accountant who enjoys working close to the business, ensuring accuracy of data, improving processes, and supporting deal activity in a dynamic international environment.
The Role
As Senior Accountant Operations, you will play a key role in the integrity and oversight of investment accounting activities. You will work closely with investment teams and internal stakeholders to ensure robust controls and smooth execution of transaction related processes.
This is a hands on position requiring strong system knowledge, critical thinking and attention to detail within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and validate broad and complex sets of accounting transactions
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness and integrity of data within the portfolio accounting system through ongoing monitoring, reconciliations and monthly controls
- Have ownership and management of all controls processes
- Identifying discrepancies within the accounting transactions and resolving any issues in an accurate and timely manner
- Support internal and external stakeholders by providing detailed financial information and analysis as requested
- Support investment teams throughout the deal life cycle from an accounting perspective
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external counter parties such as auditors
- Continuously review and enhance investment accounting processes, controls and documentation
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or similar
- 3 years' experience in an accounting or financial controls role (experience within funds, investments or financial services is highly advantageous)
- Good working knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong hands-on experience with accounting systems and advanced Excel
- Experience working with large data sets and complex financial information
- An accountancy qualification is beneficial but not essential.
