Our client, a global consumer technology business with a fast-expanding international footprint, is seeking to appoint a Vice President of Financial Reporting to join its New York office. This is a newly created leadership role that will play a central part in shaping the company's global finance function as it continues to scale.

The Role
Reporting to the Group Controller, the Vice President of Financial Reporting will oversee all aspects of the company's global financial reporting, including SEC and statutory filings, consolidated group accounts, and internal management reporting. This individual will work closely with the CFO and senior leadership to ensure transparency, compliance, and efficiency across the reporting landscape.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements under US GAAP.
- Overseeing all SEC reporting and related compliance requirements.
- Managing the global consolidation process and maintaining alignment across regional entities.
- Driving continuous improvement in reporting systems, data integrity, and process automation.
- Partnering with technical accounting to assess and implement new accounting standards.
- Managing relationships with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audits.
- Developing and mentoring a high-performing financial reporting team.
- Providing insight and clarity to senior executives through well-presented financial analysis and commentary.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting background, deep knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting, and the leadership capability to elevate reporting standards across a global business.
Essential experience:
- CPA qualification.
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit.
- Proven success in a complex, multinational environment; experience in consumer technology or consumer-facing industries is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and improve systems and processes at scale.
- Strong communication skills and executive presence.
- Experience with major ERP and reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workiva).
- IPO readiness or prior listing experience preferred.
