Senior Financial Reporting & Tax | Private Equity | Amsterdam
We are working exclusively with an international investment organisation with a strong global presence is looking to appoint a Senior Financial Reporting & Tax to join their Amsterdam based Finance team.
This is a great opportunity for an audit trained accountant to move into a highly technical, commercially focused role within a sophisticated private markets environment, combining tax reporting, financial accounting, controls and systems.
Role & Responsibilities
Working within the Fund Accounting function, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and delivery of tax-related reporting across a complex international investment structure.
You will work closely with internal Finance and Tax teams, investment professionals and external advisers, acting as a key point of contact for tax reporting requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating tax reporting activities and ensuring accurate, complete and timely deliverables.
Acting as a key contact for external tax advisers, managing data submissions and resolving technical or reporting queries.
Assessing the appropriate tax and accounting treatment of complex transactions under IFRS and US GAAP.
Preparing and maintaining tax position papers, supporting documentation and key assumptions.
Developing robust data flows and controls to ensure tax information is accurate, consistent and fully auditable.
Reviewing complex fund and legal entity structures, ensuring they are accurately reflected within accounting systems and reporting.
Preparing and reviewing financial reporting disclosures in line with evolving GAAP requirements.
Analysing financial reports and ensuring the underlying information is complete, accurate and fit for purpose.
Supporting finance projects and identifying opportunities to improve tax reporting processes, systems and controls.
Providing guidance and knowledge-sharing to colleagues across the wider team.
What are we looking for?
We are particularly interested in candidates who have built their foundation in audit and financial accounting and are now looking to develop their career within private equity, investment management or financial services.
You will ideally have:
4 years' experience across audit, accounting, financial control or a related environment.
An audit qualification such as CA, CPA, RA or equivalent.
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge, with a good understanding of GAAP.
Experience within financial services, investment management, private equity or a similarly complex environment is highly desirable.
An interest in, or experience with tax reporting and tax accounting matters.
The ability to understand complex legal entity and fund structures and translate these into accurate reporting requirements.
Strong Excel and accounting systems experience.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work confidently with large volumes of data.
Strong communication skills and fluent English.
