About the opportunity
This is a critical and influential role, reporting to the Head of Governance and working closely with senior leaders and the Board.
As Senior Governance & Risk Advisor, you'll provide high-quality support across a broad portfolio including risk management, procurement and contracts, governance, safeguarding and business continuity. You'll play an important role in strengthening a culture of accountability, learning and continuous improvement, helping the organisation make confident, effective decisions at every level.
You'll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of areas and see the direct impact of your work on how the charity operates and delivers its mission. The role would suit someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable working with senior stakeholders and takes pride in making sure things are done efficiently and to a high standard.
A bit about you
You'll have a genuine passion for and experience in risk management and a genuine interest in not-for-profit governance best practice. Alongside this, you'll bring experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Internal Audit
- Policy Management
- Contract management
- Third-party contract risk
- Business continuity planning
- Safeguarding
You'll be an excellent communicator who can build strong relationships and work confidently with senior stakeholders. You'll have strong attention to detail, a proactive and practical approach, and the ability to manage a varied portfolio effectively.
Most importantly, you'll be motivated by the opportunity to use your skills in a values-led organisation making a meaningful difference to older people.
Also, a basic DBS check will be carried out for the successful applicant.
