Senior Finance Business Partner - Amsterdam, Technology & IT, Ecommerce.

Altum Consulting are recruiting for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join an ecommerce business based in central Amsterdam. Technology and data sit at the heart of their commercial strategy, powering customer experience, logistics optimisation, and scalable growth.

This is a senior, commercially focused finance leadership position. You will operate as a true C-suite partner, taking full financial ownership of the Technology and IT organisations, influencing strategic investment decisions, and ensuring optimal allocation of capital across platforms, infrastructure, and digital innovation.

You will move beyond traditional finance responsibilities, acting as a trusted advisor to the CTO, CIO, and executive leadership team.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Partnering

• Act as the primary finance partner to the CTO, CIO, and senior technology leadership.
• Provide strategic financial insight to support long-term technology roadmap decisions.
• Influence executive-level decisions on digital investment, platform scalability, automation, and innovation initiatives.
• Challenge and shape business cases at C-suite level.

Technology & IT Ownership

• Hold full financial ownership of Technology and IT cost base, investment portfolio, and performance outcomes.
• Lead financial planning for engineering, product development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data functions.
• Evaluate ROI across technology investments including platforms, cloud infrastructure, AI initiatives, and tooling.
• Develop financial frameworks to optimise technology spend efficiency.

Planning, Forecasting & Performance

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for Technology & IT.
• Build sophisticated financial models supporting scaling ecommerce operations.
• Establish KPIs linking technology performance to commercial outcomes.
• Drive accountability through clear financial visibility and performance tracking.

Investment & Value Creation

• Lead capital allocation decisions across strategic technology initiatives.
• Own investment governance and post-implementation performance reviews.
• Identify opportunities for operational leverage, automation, and cost optimisation.
• Support M&A, platform expansion, and digital transformation initiatives as required.

Leadership & Influence

• Operate as a senior leader within the Finance organisation.
• Coach senior stakeholders on financial decision-making.
• Drive a culture of commercial ownership and data-driven thinking across technology teams.
• Act as a key voice within executive planning cycles.

You'll be/have:

• CA/RA/ACA/CPA / equivalent finance qualification preferred.
• Advanced financial modelling and business case expertise.
• Experience in international or multi-market businesses advantageous.
• Significant experience operating as a Senior Finance Business Partner within a high-growth ecommerce, digital, or technology-led organisation.
• Proven track record partnering directly with C-suite executives.
• Demonstrated ownership of large Technology / IT / Digital cost bases and investment portfolios.
• Strong background in FP&A, commercial finance, or strategic finance leadership roles.
• Hands-on but strategic; equally effective in boardroom and detail discussions.
• Strong storytelling and communication skills with non-finance leaders.
