Overview
Altum Consulting are working with a scaling software business to recruit an Associate Vice President of Finance to play a key leadership role in advancing its financial strategy, reporting infrastructure, and operational excellence as the company continues its domestic and international growth. This is a pivotal hire within a maturing finance organization - ideal for a commercially minded, ambitious and technically strong finance professional looking to make an immediate impact.
Role Summary
Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Associate VP will oversee financial reporting, planning, and operational finance, ensuring the business has the insight, controls, and agility to scale effectively. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
- Drive FP&A partnering with business leaders to develop budgets, forecasts, and performance insights.
- Support and enhance management reporting, KPI tracking, and financial modelling to inform strategic decisions.
- Oversee cash management, working capital, and investment planning, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Collaborate with accounting, operations, and revenue teams to streamline processes, systems, and internal controls.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of finance automation and ERP systems, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Partner with senior leadership on board materials, investor reporting, and fundraising support as the company continues to expand.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to a growing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
- 6 years of progressive finance experience, ideally within high-growth software, SaaS, or technology-driven environments.
- Strong grounding in both financial reporting and FP&A, with the ability to connect numbers to strategy.
- Experience managing or improving financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Workday, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights to senior stakeholders and non-financial audiences.
