Group Management Accountant (6 month FTC)

Group Management Accountant | 6-month FTC | ASAP Start

Altum Consulting are recruiting for a Group Management Accountant to join a large retail business based in Central London. This is a pivotal role focused on delivering group management reporting and supporting strategic decision-making across a multi-entity environment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the consolidated monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting cycles, and group-level financial analysis. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, this role requires strong commercial acumen, technical capability, and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and consolidation of monthly management accounts across the Group
• Lead the group budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and performance commentary
• Develop and enhance reporting packs, KPIs, and dashboards for senior leadership
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes, systems, and controls

Required Skills & Experience

• ACA / CA qualified accountant with 1-3 years post-qualified experience (practice-trained preferred)
• Practical experience in management accounting at group level
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Excellent understanding of IFRS / UK GAAP and group reporting requirements
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modelling)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Confident communicator, capable of engaging with senior stakeholders
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
