Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a technology business during a period of rapid growth and transformation.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and commercial insight while supporting strategic projects across the business.

This role is ideally suited to a hands-on Financial Controller who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can quickly establish credibility with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and board reporting packs.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and treasury activities.
• Manage and develop the finance team, providing leadership and technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and maintain a strong financial control environment.
• Partner with senior leadership to provide commercial analysis and decision support.
• Lead the annual audit process and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and finance transformation projects.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.
• Assist with acquisitions, integrations, and other business-critical finance projects.

About You

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller within a technology, SaaS, digital, or high-growth business.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience of IFRS reporting.
• Previous interim or contract experience with the ability to hit the ground running.
• Experience leading month-end close and managing a high-performing finance team.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle or Workday.
• Commercially minded with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable operating in a changing environment.
