Altum Consulting are exclusively partnering with a confidential client in the international insurance services sector to appoint a Finance Director for their Benelux business.

This is a senior leadership role within a complex, client-led organisation offering responsibility for the full finance function across the region. The successful candidate will sit on the Management Team and act as a key partner to the Managing Director and business leaders.

The role would suit an experienced Dutch speaking Finance Director or senior finance leader who enjoys combining strategic influence with hands-on financial leadership.

Role & Responsibilities:

* Leading the planning and control cycle, including budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
* Overseeing annual accounts, audit, corporate tax and VAT processes
* Providing financial insight, cost-price analysis and commercial advice to business leaders
* Monitoring financial and operational agreements with clients, including SLA performance
* Strengthening the quality, reliability and usefulness of management information
* Identifying financial and operational risks early and advising on practical solutions
* Driving improvements across finance processes, controls and reporting
* Leading and developing the finance team while supporting broader business decision-making

Education & Experience:

* Completed university degree in Business Economics, Accountancy, Finance, Controlling or a related discipline
* Post-master Accountancy, RC, RA, CPA-equivalent or similar finance qualification would be advantageous
* Proven experience in a role with final financial responsibility, ideally as Finance Director, Head of Finance, Group Controller, Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager
* Experience within insurance, claims, financial services, regulated services or another complex multi-stakeholder organisation would be highly relevant
* Strong technical finance background across financial control, management reporting, statutory reporting, audit, tax, budgeting and forecasting
* Knowledge of IFRS is important. Solvency II or insurance reporting experience would be a strong advantage
* Confident operating at Management Team level while remaining close enough to the detail to challenge numbers and improve processes
* Strong analytical, commercial and communication skills, with the ability to bring structure, pace and ownership
