Technical Accounting Manager - Interim / FTC

We are working with a well-established Media organisation in London that is looking for an experienced Technical Accounting Manager to support its Group Finance team through a busy year-end reporting and audit period.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused opportunity for a technically strong qualified accountant who can take ownership of complex IFRS accounting matters, support the year-end audit and drive improvements across financial reporting and controls.

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who are immediately available or on a short notice period.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on complex IFRS accounting matters, preparing technical accounting papers and supporting key management judgements.

• Coordinate year-end reporting deliverables and act as a key point of contact for external auditors.

• Support the preparation and review of Group IFRS financial statements and annual report disclosures.

• Strengthen financial reporting controls, including requirements relating to Provision 29 of the UK Corporate Governance Code.

• Lead detailed balance sheet reviews, identifying risks, challenging balances and driving resolution of outstanding issues.

• Work closely with senior finance stakeholders to ensure reporting deadlines are met and processes run efficiently.

About You

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

• Strong technical IFRS knowledge and experience preparing accounting papers.

• Proven experience managing year-end audits and preparing or reviewing Group financial statements.

• Solid background in Group Reporting, Technical Accounting, Audit or Financial Control.

• Experience reviewing balance sheets and improving financial controls.

• Confident communicator, comfortable working with senior stakeholders and external auditors.

• Proactive, organised and able to hit the ground running.

• Immediately available or able to start at short notice.

Experience within a complex group structure or exposure to media and broadcasting would be advantageous, but is not essential.
