T&E Analyst - Houston

Location: Houston, Texas
Contract: 6 months
Hourly Rate: $28-$32 per hour, depending on experience

Altum Consulting are looking for a hands-on Travel & Expense professional to join a growing finance team on an initial six-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in T&E, Accounts Payable or Finance Operations who enjoys working with financial data, maintaining accurate records and ensuring expense processes run smoothly.

You will support the day-to-day administration and review of employee expenses and corporate card transactions, helping to ensure that all expenditure is processed accurately and in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and review employee travel and expense claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

• Review corporate card transactions, checking expense coding, supporting documentation and approval workflows.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, missing receipts and incorrectly submitted expenses.

• Perform reconciliations of expense accounts and corporate card transactions.

• Support month-end close activities, ensuring expenses are accurately recorded in the correct accounting period.

• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

• Respond to employee queries relating to expense claims, reimbursements and company policies.

• Identify opportunities to improve expense processes, strengthen controls and increase efficiency.

• Support the maintenance and consistent application of T&E policies and procedures.

About You

• 1-3 years' experience in Travel & Expense, Accounts Payable or Finance Operations.

• Previous experience processing expense claims and/or corporate card transactions.

• Good understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and expense policies.

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when working with financial data.

• Confident using Excel and finance systems.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

• A proactive approach to resolving discrepancies and improving processes.

• Good communication skills and the ability to support employees and internal stakeholders.
