SENIOR FUND ACCOUNTANT | AMSTERDAM | FULL TIME
Altum are exclusively partnering on an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning, international private equity investment firm as a Senior Fund Accountant located in Amsterdam.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional looking to move beyond traditional audit and develop their career within a sophisticated, international investment environment.
You'll join a diverse, high-performing and collaborative finance team gaining broad exposure across accounting, financial reporting and controlling whilst working closely with other colleagues across varying departments such as Treasury, Tax, Legal and external teams.
Role & Responsibilities
The role will give you ownership across a varied portfolio of financial accounting activities with responsibilities increasing as you develop.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes across management entities.
Preparing, reviewing and reconciling financial information and management accounts.
Reviewing and approving invoices and supporting the Accounts Payable function.
Accounting for a range of transactions, including management fees, expenses, accruals, compensation and tax-related items.
Supporting internal and external audit processes, including financial, SOX and ISAE audits.
Assisting with internal and external billing activities.
Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems and controls.
Working across multiple accounting standards, including US GAAP and Dutch GAAP.
What we are looking for
We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have developed a strong technical accounting foundation within audit, ideally with exposure to financial services, private equity, asset management or investments.
You'll ideally have:
3-6 years' relevant accounting or audit experience.
A formal qualification such as;- CA, CPA, ACA, RA, RC or equivalent.
Educated with a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Strong technical accounting and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
The ability to take ownership, work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English both written and verbal.
Experience with ERP systems and strong Microsoft Office skills.
