Senior FP&A Lead - M&A

We are partnering with a leading, international B2B organisation within the Consumer space to appoint a highly experienced, FP&A Lead with strong M&A experience.
This is a high-visibility role supporting strategic growth initiatives, including acquisitions and post-deal value creation. The successful candidate will combine investigative financial analysis with forward-looking commercial planning, playing a key role in validating financial performance and translating findings into tangible value creation initiatives.
The Role
This position sits at the intersection of FP&A, M&A, and commercial strategy. You will support acquisition activity through detailed financial investigation while also driving performance improvement initiatives across the business.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in both transaction-mode and operational-mode able to scrutinise financial facts during diligence and then help execute the value creation road map post-acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
M&A Support
Lead or support buy-side financial due diligence processes
Conduct in-depth investigative analysis of financial statements
Perform Quality of Earnings analysis, EBITDA normalisation, and working capital assessments
Validate revenue, margin, and cost structures to identify financial risks and opportunities
Challenge assumptions and identify areas of financial exposure
Support deal modelling and investment committee materials
Value Creation & Post-Deal Performance
Develop and implement value creation plans aligned with acquisition theses
Identify margin improvement, cost optimisation, and operational efficiency opportunities
Build financial models to quantify synergies and improvement initiatives
Track and report on synergy realisation and performance improvements
Partner with commercial and operational teams to ensure execution of value initiatives
FP&A & Commercial Finance
Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling
Provide profitability analysis across products, customers, and channels
Deliver insight-driven analysis to senior stakeholders
Build and enhance financial models to support strategic decision-making
Translate complex financial findings into clear business recommendations
Candidate Profile
Experience
5-8 years' experience in FP&A, Transaction Services (FDD), Corporate Development, or similar
Hands-on experience in Financial Due Diligence (buy-side preferred)
Experience working on Quality of Earnings analysis and financial investigations
Exposure to post-acquisition integration and value creation initiatives
Background in a PE-backed, acquisitive, or international organisation is advantageous
Technical Skills
Strong financial modelling and analytical capability
Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools is a plus
Deep understanding of financial statements, cash flow, working capital, and margin drivers
Ability to connect transaction analysis to operational performance improvement
