Senior Accountant - Amsterdam
Altum Consulting is partnering with a prestigious, global investment firm to appoint a Senior Accountant to join their high-performing and internationally focused Accounting team in Amsterdam.

This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced, operationally minded accountant who enjoys working close to the business, ensuring accuracy of data, improving processes, and supporting deal activity in a dynamic international environment.
The Role
As Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in the integrity and oversight of investment accounting activities. You will work closely with investment teams and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, robust controls, and smooth execution of transaction-related processes.
This is a hands-on position requiring strong system knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review investment-related accounting entries covering transactions, valuations and other portfolio data uploaded into the accounting system
Ensure the accuracy, completeness and integrity of data within the portfolio accounting system through ongoing monitoring, reconciliations and monthly controls
Oversee the correct application of valuation policies within quarterly valuation processes
Prepare and analyse monthly and annual financial reports for investors and management
Support investment teams throughout the deal lifecycle, including deal closing and ongoing portfolio monitoring, by providing relevant financial information and analysis
Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external counterparties
Continuously review and enhance investment accounting processes, controls and documentation
Support external auditors during financial statement and control audits
Education & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or similar
3 years' experience in an accounting or financial controls role (experience within investment accounting is highly advantageous)
Good working knowledge of US GAAP
Strong hands-on experience with accounting systems and advanced Excel
Experience working with large data sets and complex financial information
An accountancy qualification is beneficial but not essential.
