We\'re partnering with a high-profile international business to appoint a Director of Financial Control.
Reporting to the CFO, this is a key leadership role responsible for safeguarding financial integrity, driving transformation, and influencing Group-wide financial strategy. You\'ll be the guardian of the balance sheet and lead on financial reporting, technical accounting, controls, and audit across a complex UK&I cluster.
What you\'ll do
- Own delivery of accurate, timely financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Ensure robustness of the balance sheet, leading reconciliations, analysis, and risk management.
- Lead on internal controls, policy compliance, and JSOX requirements.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and Group Internal Audit.
- Act as technical accounting lead (IFRS, UK GAAP).
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Tax, HR and Commercial.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of c.15.
About you
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience.
- Background in Big 4 and large, complex businesses highly desirable.
- Strong technical accounting expertise (IFRS, UK GAAP).
- Proven track record of leadership in financial control, audit and policy compliance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Sector experience in consumer, media, tech, or similar complex industries is ideal.
