Role Responsibilities:
As the Senior Risk Manager for the organisation, you will lead the organisation's risk management and insurance activities while supporting the Internal Audit programme and monitoring control effectiveness across the business. You will act as a key business partner to senior leaders and functional teams, helping to embed a proactive and constructive approach to risk. You will be reporting directly to the Senior Director of Finance.
Maintaining and developing a robust, organisation-wide risk management framework aligned to strategic objectives
Partnering with teams across the business to ensure risks are identified, assessed, and managed effectively, positioning risk management as a strategic enabler
Providing insight and updates to senior leadership on emerging risks, areas of concern, and recommended corrective actions
Monitoring the internal control environment and supporting functions to strengthen controls and address gaps
Supporting an outsourced Internal Audit model, including planning activity, coordinating stakeholders, and tracking remediation of audit actions
A bit about you:
You will bring strong experience in risk management, ideally gained in a complex or multifaceted organisation, with a proven track record of building effective relationships and influencing stakeholders. You are analytical, commercially aware, and able to think both strategically and pragmatically.
You're an enthusiastic advocate for good risk practice, confident working independently, and comfortable engaging with senior leaders. Experience supporting Internal Audit, business continuity, or insurance programmes would be valuable, and exposure to life sciences, research, or related sectors is an advantage.
