Senior Management Accountant

Retail | Hybrid (2 days office / 3 days WFH) | West London

A well-established retail business is looking for a Senior Management Accountant to lead a high-performing Management Accounting team in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you'll manage and develop a team of 6-7 accountants and take full ownership of the monthly management accounts, trial balances, balance sheet control, and audit support. This role is heavily focused on people leadership, financial control, and process excellence, rather than budgeting or commercial partnering.

You'll work closely with Financial Accounting, Tax, Commercial Finance, and senior stakeholders, ensuring reporting accuracy, strong controls, and continuous improvement across finance systems and processes. There is also exposure to finance transformation projects, with scope to champion automation and AI-led efficiencies, and to deputise for the Financial Controller when required.

Key Requirements

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified

• Proven experience managing and developing a finance team (essential)

• Strong technical management accounting and balance sheet control experience

• Confident communicator with excellent analytical skills

• Advanced or strong intermediate Excel skills

• Retail or consumer sector experience (desirable)

• Experience with SUN or similar ERP systems (desirable)
