Senior Finance Business Partner

Altum is partnering with a national charity working to end homelessness to recruit a Senior Finance Business Partner.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role within an established Finance Business Partnering team. You'll manage a team of five experienced FBPs and act as the lead finance advisor to Directors, supporting decisions that directly affect frontline services, income generation and long-term sustainability.

The role combines ownership of core financial planning processes with regular exposure to senior leadership. You'll lead budgets and reforecasts, provide clear monthly insight to SLT, and present financial projections to the Finance Committee. You'll also play a key role in shaping management reporting as a new finance system is embedded.

This is a role for someone who enjoys working closely with non-finance colleagues, asking the right questions, and using finance to bring clarity to complex decisions.

What you'll be doing

• Leading and developing a strong team of Finance Business Partners

• Owning budgets, quarterly reforecasts and monthly reporting to senior leadership

• Working closely with Directors to support both charitable delivery and commercial decision-making

• Presenting financial projections and analysis at committee level

• Helping design clearer, more useful reporting as systems evolve

• Providing senior finance input when issues need escalation

What we're looking for

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)

• Strong senior-level finance business partnering experience

• Confident working with Directors and senior stakeholders

• Clear communicator who can turn numbers into insight

• Experience in the charity or wider not-for-profit sector, with an understanding of SORP

Role details

• Contract: 12-month fixed term, with potential to go permanent

• Location: Hybrid - typically 1 day per week in the office

• Start date: Ideally late February 2026
