Altum Consulting is proud to be partnering with a UK charity supporting people affected by displacement in their search for an interim Head of FP&A.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead the organisation's financial planning and analysis function. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality financial insight, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving performance across the organisation.
As the leader of a newly established team, you will design and embed strong financial planning processes, improve reporting and controls, and build a high-performing FP&A function that is visible, proactive, and value-adding.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance reporting to senior leadership and the Board
- Develop KPI frameworks and oversee reporting to funders and stakeholders
- Manage cash flow, cost allocation, and financial risk processes
- Drive finance systems improvements, policies, and governance (including audit and compliance support)
- Build and lead a high-performing FP&A team
- Partner with stakeholders to improve financial decision-making and literacy across the organisation
About You
You are a strategic and hands-on finance leader with a strong track record in fast-paced, evolving environments. You are comfortable with ambiguity, resilient in building processes from the ground up, and able to balance operational delivery with long-term improvement.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in FP&A or commercial finance leadership roles
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience developing reporting frameworks, budgeting processes, and performance insight
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build high-performing teams
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Charity sector experience highly desirable
