Position Overview
The Senior ServiceNow Consultant is responsible for designing and delivering high-quality ServiceNow solutions, providing expert technical advice, and ensuring adherence to best practices across all aspects of ServiceNow implementation. This role serves as a technical lead, mentor, and role model, guiding team members and ensuring solutions meet both customer requirements and internal standards. Cultural fit is key, as this role requires collaborative, adaptable, and customer-focused engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow solutions to meet customer business requirements.
- Deliver high-quality implementations based on business processes and technical specifications.
- Provide technical leadership and act as a design authority for medium-scale solutions.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering technical knowledge and skills.
- Ensure adherence to coding and design standards and prepare technical hand-over documentation.
- Assist with system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Participate in customer meetings, delivering presentations and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Support other administrative and collaborative tasks as required.
Knowledge & Key Skills
Essential
- Vast expertise in ServiceNow technical consulting or development roles.
- Proven expertise across multiple areas of the ServiceNow platform, including functionality, database structure, developer APIs, and development tools.
- Strong understanding of Now Platform implementation and ServiceNow applications.
- ServiceNow ITSM experience required; delivering contract services is expected.
- Proficient in web technologies such as JavaScript, SOAP/REST web services, XML/JSON, Angular.js, and Seismic.
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and support to Process Consultants.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently or within a team.
- Customer-facing experience, with the ability to manage expectations effectively.
- Public sector account experience is highly desirable.
- Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) experience (ServiceNow module) is highly desirable.
Desirable
- Experience mentoring and peer reviewing team members.
- Contribution to technical and process procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Up-to-date knowledge of market developments, emerging technologies, and ServiceNow strategies.
