Altum is proud to be partnering with the Lead Exposure Elimination Project (LEEP) in its search for a permanent Project Manager. While recruitment for the permanent role commences we are also seeking an interim to provide cover and more details on this role can be found here: linkedin.com/jobs/view/project-manager-at-altum-consulting-4346024979/?originalSubdomain=uk
LEEP is an evidence-based nonprofit working to eliminate childhood lead poisoning, primarily by addressing lead paint, one of the most significant and solvable sources of exposure. Since 2020, they have launched programmes in 37 countries, supported governments in drafting and enforcing regulation, and secured major commitments from manufacturers. Their work has been recognised by USAID, WHO, UNICEF and others, and is consistently rated as one of the most cost-effective health interventions globally.
As LEEP continues to scale across countries and time zones, this interim role will provide essential continuity and structure during a transition period.
This contract role will work closely with a senior leader and the wider operations team to maintain momentum, keep projects running on time, and ensure organisational planning and rhythms continue smoothly. A consultant is currently in post setting up systems and processes; this role will pick up where they leave off in January, keeping things ticking over until a permanent hire is made and longer-term planning resumes.
The successful candidate will need to get up to speed quickly, communicate clearly across time zones, and bring a calm, organised approach to a fast-moving environment.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and run core organisational rhythms, including goal-setting cycles, project check-ins and planning cadences
- Own and update the organisational calendar, ensuring priorities, deadlines and milestones are clear and on track
- Support cross-functional projects to stay on time, flag risks early, and ensure strong follow-through
- Work closely with a Toronto-based stakeholder, managing time-zone differences and maintaining excellent written and verbal communication
- Use and maintain Google Sheets and Excel trackers; confidently read and work with existing scripts and structured spreadsheets
- Provide continuity on systems, processes and documentation set up by the outgoing consultant
- Act as a steady operational presence during the interim period, ensuring handover readiness for a future permanent hire
Requirements
- Strong experience in project management, operations, or programme delivery (consulting or interim experience highly welcome)
- Highly organised with a strong systems mindset and excellent attention to detail
- Very confident with Google Sheets and Excel; comfortable reading and working with scripts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in distributed, remote teams
- Experience working across time zones and with global stakeholders
- Able to quickly understand and adapt to existing processes
- Interest in mission-driven work (alignment valued, but less critical given the temporary nature of the role)
Details
- Contract length: 3-4 months
- Location: Fully remote
- Working pattern: Full-time preferred; must be able to overlap meaningfully with North American working hours
- Salary: dependent upon location and experience eg. £51,000-£55,000 GBP for London-based roles, £46,000-£49,000 non London, UK based roles, $72,000-$77,000 USD for New York-based roles, KSh 6,850,000-7,310,000 for Nairobi-based roles.
- Benefits: LEEP offers 33 days' leave including public holidays and a generous benefits package including pension contribution and health insurance, (depending on location), professional development opportunities and an annual team retreat.
Altum is acting as a partner to LEEP and will be managing initial applications on their behalf.
