The successful candidate will work closely with the Compliance Director and manage the client and matter onboarding function, whilst contributing to the wider responsibilities of the team including the general compliance function.
This is a very busy management role that requires a proactive approach and ability to adapt to a fast-evolving team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the central onboarding and compliance function, ensuring the team delivers a high-quality, responsive service that supports wider business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and strengthen client and matter onboarding processes, improving efficiency and risk management controls.
- Lead, develop, and support members of the onboarding team through effective people management, coaching, and performance oversight.
- Coordinate workload distribution across the team to ensure onboarding activities are completed accurately, promptly, and in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Carry out detailed customer due diligence reviews and contribute to client and matter risk assessments, applying enhanced scrutiny where higher-risk factors are identified.
- Prepare clear and concise escalation documentation in accordance with internal governance and reporting procedures.
- Manage incoming onboarding requests and ensure queries are acknowledged, tracked, and resolved within agreed service standards.
- Collaborate closely with senior risk and compliance stakeholders to maintain operational continuity, provide mutual support during peak periods, and help meet key deadlines.
- Develop strong working relationships with colleagues across the business, including fee earners, operational teams, and external counterparties, to support a smooth onboarding experience.
- Support broader compliance initiatives, projects, and ad-hoc tasks as required by the wider team and business priorities.
