The opportunity
Our client, a leading international media business, is looking for a Tax Manager to take ownership of day-to-day tax operations. The company is going through a period of change and needs someone who can bring structure, oversight and control to its tax function while managing a small offshore team.
This is a hands-on role for a technically strong and commercially minded tax professional who enjoys working in fast-paced, international environments.
Key responsibilities
Deliver the annual tax plan and manage compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Review and challenge work produced by offshore analysts, ensuring quality and accuracy.
Strengthen internal controls and address audit gaps across the tax function.
Act as the primary operational point of contact for tax, supporting the Group FD and Head of Tax.
Partner with the wider business teams to embed good tax practice.
Manage relationships with external advisors and tax authorities.
Develop and coach offshore team members to improve capability and consistency.
Travel occasionally, including international trips to meet the offshore team.
About you
Professionally qualified (ACA / CTA or equivalent) with strong experience in direct and indirect tax.
Practice-trained with inhouse experience, ideally with exposure to both compliance and advisory work.
Confident managing offshore teams and reviewing detailed tax outputs.
Comfortable working in a changing, fast-moving environment.
Strong communicator able to simplify complex issues for non-specialists.
Hands-on and pragmatic, with excellent attention to detail.
