Procurement, Commercial, Supply Chain - Defence & Infrastructure - Consulting

A Global Infrastructure Consulting firm is currently growing their Defence and Government Procurement and Commercial team. As an organisation they support global businesses to design and deliver complex transformation programmes. They are looking to candidates across the Procurement, Commercial, Supply Chain and Cost spectrum in either Birmingham, Manchester, or Cumbria.

They are one of the leading providers of consulting services to the Infrastructure, Natural Resources, Government and Real Estate sectors, among others, and ranked highly on the Sunday Times Top Track 250.

Their Commercial and Procurement team, in this sector, supports iconic and household names across Central Government and Defence. They currently sit at around 300 people nationwide and are growing due to increased client demand, an improved value proposition, and business strategy that prioritises growth.

The successful candidate(s) will be involved in a range of commercial, cost, procurement and supply chain activities for defence-related construction, infrastructure, and facilities projects. These projects typically include military bases, training facilities, defence estates, and secure infrastructure, along with specific assets and military equipment

Specific responsibilities can include

• Digital Supply Chain, Software and Digital Procurement
• Prepare, manage, and review project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts
• Conduct cost analysis and provide value engineering solutions.
• Monitor project costs and identify potential cost savings.
• Manage procurement processes, including tendering, supplier selection, and contract negotiation.
• NEC Contracts and Capital Programmes
• Assess contractor and supplier valuations and payments
• Procurement and Supply Chain Strategy, Transformation and Delivery
• Work directly with senior decision makers and leaders both internally and externally to update on progress.

Notably, you only need experience across one or two of the above areas to be considered for the position and they are open to candidates from a wide range of backgrounds across the Public Sector, Defence and Infrastructure

Salaries are negotiable between £50,000 and £80,000 basic package
