The Royal Countryside Fund is pleased to be recruiting for a newly created Finance Officer position, enhancing processes and ensuring accurate and timely processing across the function. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this would be an incredible opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive environment whilst developing key skills and experience across working in a finance function. We're looking for an ambitious and proactive candidate to join at this exciting time for The Royal Countryside Fund.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, expenses, staff credit cards and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Reconcile bank accounts and assist with balance sheet entries on a regular basis
- Point of contact for any banking queries, both internal and external.
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and ad-hoc reports
- Assist with payroll submissions
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records and filing systems
- Help prepare audit schedules and support annual reporting processes
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams on finance-related matters
- Contribute to improvements in financial systems and processes
- Collaborate with other teams within the organisation.
Person Specification
- A proactive and passionate candidate with ambition to learn
- Some experience in a finance or accounts role (desirable)
- Confident user of Excel (essential)
- Working towards an accounting qualification such as AAT/ACCA/CIMA (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders
- Team player who is also comfortable working independently
- Familiarity with accounting software (Xero desirable but not essential)
- An understanding of basic accounting principles.
