Altum Consulting is pleased to be partnering with a leading global philanthropic foundation in its search for a Finance and Operations Business Partner to join its team in London on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a highly influential role, supporting both a global programme portfolio and regional programmes across Africa and the Middle East. The Finance and Operations Business Partner will act as a trusted advisor to programme teams, driving operational excellence, strengthening financial and risk management, and ensuring the effective deployment of resources in line with the organisation's mission.
Reporting into senior programme leadership, with a matrix line to global finance, this London-based role offers hybrid working and the opportunity to contribute directly to impactful, international initiatives.
Duties include:
Acting as a strategic partner to programme teams, providing financial insight, analysis and operational guidance across the full grant lifecycle
Supporting due diligence processes, including financial, legal and compliance assessments of prospective partners
Reviewing grant budgets and proposals, ensuring alignment and identifying potential risks
Monitoring grant performance, analysing variances and supporting programme teams with budget adjustments and risk mitigation
Leading regional budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning in line with global frameworks
Delivering financial reporting, analysis and presentations to support senior decision-making
Maintaining oversight of regional risk registers and supporting effective risk management practices
Ensuring smooth financial and operational processes, including payments, reporting timelines and compliance requirements
Acting as a key liaison between regional teams and central finance, supporting audits, systems and policy implementation
Contributing to continuous improvement of systems, processes and ways of working across the organisation
The ideal candidate will:
Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience in a grant-making or charity environment
Bring strong Finance Business Partnering experience, with the ability to influence and support non-finance stakeholders
Have experience working across international or complex regulatory environments
Demonstrate excellent analytical, modelling and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
Be confident communicating complex financial information in a clear and accessible way
Have experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and risk management processes
Bring a proactive, service-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Show a genuine interest in gender equality and the organisation's mission
Have strong relationship-building skills and the ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment
