BI Consultant
Fully remote (UK)
£550 - £650 per day, Outside IR35
3-month contract, with potential to extend
We are partnering with an international organisation seeking an experienced Senior BI Consultant to take technical ownership of its Power BI reporting environment.
Joining an ongoing reporting programme, you will review and enhance an existing suite of reports, improve data accuracy and dashboard design, and deliver reliable, production-ready reporting. This is a hands-on opportunity for a senior consultant who can work independently and make confident technical decisions.
Key responsibilities
Take ownership of Power BI development, enhancements, testing, deployment and ongoing support.
Review existing reports and resolve issues across DAX measures, data models, filters, and visual presentation.
Ensure reporting accuracy through testing, reconciliation and documented quality assurance.
Develop polished, intuitive dashboards with consistent formatting and strong usability.
Build and optimise data models and Power Query transformations, using SQL to investigate discrepancies and validate outputs.
Manage Power BI Service workspaces, refreshes, gateways and security.
Strengthen documentation, version control and release processes, supporting a smooth handover from an external development partner.
About you
Advanced hands-on expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL and data modelling.
Proven experience taking ownership of existing BI solutions and improving their quality, performance and reliability.
Strong understanding of data validation, testing and reconciliation.
A track record of creating professional, user-friendly dashboards.
Experience managing Power BI Service deployments, security and troubleshooting.
The confidence to challenge requirements, recommend improvements and deliver without day-to-day technical supervision.
Clear communication skills and experience working directly with business stakeholders.
Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms would be advantageous, alongside experience inheriting solutions from external development teams.
The role is fully remote, working UK/Central European hours. Candidates should ideally be able to share examples of dashboards they have developed and explain how they validated the underlying data.
To discuss the opportunity, please get in touch with your CV and details of your availability.
