Our client company is leading international private equity investment firm who have been experiencing rapid growth year on year resulting in over $70bn of assets under their management. As our client expands their portfolio and product base, they are looking to strengthen their Portfolio & Risk team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse and stimulating environment where you will gain exceptional exposure to all aspects of the private equity business, from fund-raising and investor onboarding to portfolio analysis, investment processes, and reporting.
Role Overview:
As part of our clients growing team, you will have the opportunity to interact with various departments within the organization, providing you with broad exposure and insight into the workings of private equity. You will also collaborate with external auditors, playing a key role in overseeing fund audits and ensuring the control environment is well-managed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Act as a key partner between investors, external auditors, and service providers to ensure smooth communication and execution of work.
- Reviewing financial statements and suggest improvements under US GAAP, IFRS, and Dutch GAAP standards.
- Maintain and improve the internal control environment, including overseeing SOX controls
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly portfolio reporting for investors
- Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial data and using automation where necessary to improve the quality and delivery of the reports.
- Play an active role in contributing towards various projects led by the CFO and other teams to further streamline and enhance operations.
Education & Experience:
- Educated with a Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent finance related studies
- Holding a formal accountancy qualification is highly desired (RA, RC, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
- 4 years of experience working with an accounting or audit firm
- A background within private equity or financial services is preferable
- Strong understanding of internal controls framework and reporting standards (US GAAP, Dutch GAAP, IFRS, SOX controls)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders across all levels both internally and externally
- Fluency in English is essential - any other European languages are advantageous
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
